In-patient treatment programs (also known as bed-based or residential treatment programs) are part of the spectrum of care for individuals seeking to change behaviours related to substance use or substance use disorder. Yet, it can be difficult to figure out where and how to get help.
The new guide, In-patient Treatment for Substance Use in Canada, is a resource for people thinking about in-patient treatment, their families and service providers. The guide includes:
- Answers to frequently asked questions, such as treatment cost and availability;
- Questions to ask in-patient treatment centres; and
- Individual considerations, such as personal goals and how to prepare.
