Another Opinion: The CDC’s New Infographic About Women And Drinking Is Totally Wild

The CDC continues to receive feedback on it’s official recommendation and infographic on women, alcohol, and pregnancy. Below is one of those opinions published on Buzzfeed. As a project intended to inform women of the risks associated with prenatal alcohol exposure and in support of alcohol-free pregnancies, we believe the safest choice is to not consume alcohol when pregnant or planning a pregnancy. We also believe that dialogue needs to occur with women, partners, and communities about alcohol and pregnancy. Dialogue that is woman-centered, sensitive, non-judgemental, and trauma informed.

The CDC set out to warn women of the dangers of fetal alcohol syndrome, but instead pretty much just blamed them for STDs and assault.
